No, Christmas hadn’t come early for our team. They faced a Team Challenge with a “difference”.<br /><br />The teams had to create a cocktail, name it and present a 2 minute advert on their drink to the rest of the team.<br /><br />So we had “Bejazzled” &amp; “Not-be-well” !!!<br /><br />And I’ll tell you... Michelle Talbot wasn’t well after tasting them…. This was no ordinary day off though! They had given up their services to support Children with Leukaemia, who are one of the UK’s leading children’s cancer charities. <div><br /><div>The day marked the 23rd anniversary of the “Great Amazing Party” which is a day of fun for thousands of disabled, leukemic and seriously ill children. </div><br /><div><br /><br /><br /><br /></div><br /><div><br />Clowns, circus acts, comic book heroes were all on hand to entertain the very important young guests. Other attractions included live music, fairground rides, an ice rink, bouncy castles, face painting and slides. Even Chico and the Cheeky girls were there performing live.</div><br /><div><br />Martin Walker, Commercial Director of Osborne Appointments was delighted that his team had been able to contribute to the success of the party, “Days like this really do put a different perspective on life. The Centre cares for children upto the age of 17 with severe disabilities and life limiting illnesses. </div><div><br />One area of the garden was inaccessible to the children due to 5 tonnes of gravel. Our job was to remove this gravel and create a sensory garden so the children would be able to see, feel, and touch things that they had been unable to previously. </div><br /><div> </div><br /><br /><div>We are indebted to the very generous donations from many local and UK wide businesses. Without their support we would not have been able to create the garden we did. The shame !!<br /><br />Ok its a new day and a new dawn...I shall endeavour to make more effort and publish regular articles about life in the industry and life inside Osborne.<br /><br />Things have changed quite abit since my last blog. A new team, a new branch in Northampton and new challenges to test our resolve.<br /><br />The current economic climate is worrying many companies into freezing all recruitment activity. However many other businesses have actually taken on temporary workers. Not only is this a sensible approach as they are then able to "flex" this workforce to meet demand - but it is also a highly cost effective solution.<br /><br />We have now recently reached 800 registered online candidates through <a href="http://www.osborneappointments.co.uk/">www.osborneappointments.co.uk</a>. Similiar to our Christmas appeal in Herts in 2007, we did an appeal in Northampton in December 2008, with over 80 presents being donated from local businesses.
